FASD Fundamentals

In this 7-hour online course, students learn about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) including myths and misconceptions about FASD, effects of prenatal alcohol exposure, impact of alcohol on a developing fetus, physical effects of FASD, FASD and mental health, as well as behaviours and support strategies.

  • Explain how alcohol is transferred from the mother's blood to the fetus
  • Describe how alcohol affects the developing fetus
  • Identify several physical conditions that are more prevalent for those in the population living with FASD compared to the general population
